In years past they gave an actual number -- one year it was 32 another year it was 26. The lowest I think it's ever come back is 11. My cholesterol #s are all really very good. My doctor has run other tests and consulted with a cardiologist and they're stumped as to what's causing the results.

thanks for this information....I am wondering if it is stress related at all. I am going to another Dr. on Monday and will tell you all any information I get.

Thanks and keep the information coming.

If you have been to a cardiologist then it must be something else. My Dr. thought it runs in families but is doing some research on it.

I haven't actually seen a cardiologist -- my dr discussed my case with one. The only reason I started having my crp done was because my father had heart disease and his dr suggested his kids be tested. I will be interested to hear what you learn from your dr appt.

The best anti-inflammatory supplement is "Zyflamend". It contains tumeric, ginger, & several other natural anti-inflammatory ingredients. Best price is at Amazon.com.

Dr. Andrew Weil also has an acclaimed anti-inflammatory diet/lifestyle change food pyramid. Here's the link, so that you can print & post it on your fridge:

http://www.drweil.com/drw/u/PAG00361/anti-inflammatory-food-pyramid.html

I've almost-always had elevated CRP and HS (high sensitivity)-CRP level, but I also have chronic health conditions that cause inflammation. The blood test measures chronic inflammation all throughout the body. Even something like recurring swollen gums can cause your levels to be come elevated.

About 5-7 years ago, experts found out that it was inflammation that is the actual cause of heart disease, cancer, and Alzheimer's, as well as other serious conditions.

thanks everyone....I don't eat dairy or wheat....or in such a little amt...

I only eat olive oil or coconut....eat greens everyday....no read meat.

my hdl was 71 which was great....my ldl almost normal....except for high CRP.

He said it can be from teeth or bad back issues too.(arthritis inflammation)

I had early state ovarian in 2011.......way to go wagirl you are doing great.

eattodefeatcancer is a good site. I used a vitamix to get all the good stuff.

Eat flax, chia seed, pea protein. I will use some of your suggestions thanks so much!

If you have anymore please tell me...take tumeric but will have to do more.

westie--thanks for the web site--I'll check it out. Been at a loss at what I should be eating. I'm wondering if there's a way to tell what type of inflammation a high crp indicates? Are there different types of inflammation or is inflammation just inflammation? Guess I'll research that. Is inflammation from an infection different from a nutrition based one? So many questions!!~!

I think the test they take is specific to heart problems....always have them take homocystine too. You need to have a low number on that one too. I drive my Dr. nuts I am sure. But mine keeps going up even though my lipid numbers are much better.

Statins help it but I do not want to take thet as the last one gave me muscle cramps.

Inflammation is the big deal now so we have to fight it. I will come back with more info:-)

Last summer I had mine checked and it was off the charts high. Of course, it probably didn't help that I had a bad cold at the time and also had an undiagnosed ulcer going on. Doctor said nothing to worry about...

I did double up on my Omega 3s though.
