No that did not help...lol. I have a sprouts grocery where I am and they printed out a list of things it could be and it scared me! But I still want to try to get mine down. Sprouts is a farmers market in many parts of the country.

thanks everyone....I don't eat dairy or wheat....or in such a little amt...

I only eat olive oil or coconut....eat greens everyday....no read meat.

my hdl was 71 which was great....my ldl almost normal....except for high CRP.

He said it can be from teeth or bad back issues too.(arthritis inflammation)

I had early state ovarian in 2011.......way to go wagirl you are doing great.

eattodefeatcancer is a good site. I used a vitamix to get all the good stuff.

Eat flax, chia seed, pea protein. I will use some of your suggestions thanks so much!

If you have anymore please tell me...take tumeric but will have to do more.

westie--thanks for the web site--I'll check it out. Been at a loss at what I should be eating. I'm wondering if there's a way to tell what type of inflammation a high crp indicates? Are there different types of inflammation or is inflammation just inflammation? Guess I'll research that. Is inflammation from an infection different from a nutrition based one? So many questions!!~!

I think the test they take is specific to heart problems....always have them take homocystine too. You need to have a low number on that one too. I drive my Dr. nuts I am sure. But mine keeps going up even though my lipid numbers are much better.

Statins help it but I do not want to take thet as the last one gave me muscle cramps.

Inflammation is the big deal now so we have to fight it. I will come back with more info:-)

Yes I did have the homocystine levels checked, which were high. I can't take any statins so I take the Niaspan which does wonderful things for my lipid numbers.

In years past they gave an actual number -- one year it was 32 another year it was 26. The lowest I think it's ever come back is 11. My cholesterol #s are all really very good. My doctor has run other tests and consulted with a cardiologist and they're stumped as to what's causing the results.

thanks for this information....I am wondering if it is stress related at all. I am going to another Dr. on Monday and will tell you all any information I get.

Thanks and keep the information coming.

If you have been to a cardiologist then it must be something else. My Dr. thought it runs in families but is doing some research on it.

Very well could be; get your cortisol levels checked as well.

I have through saliva test and it is high so I take holy basil and some other things....It just gets to be crazy sometimes....drinking green tea as I write LOL

Good, & I totally understand. 8)

Holy basil is one of the ingredients in "Whole Body Zyflamend", along with organic green tea. Smiley Wink

It's much easier to just take one kind of supplement, & drink the decaf/regular/flavored green teas for the EGCG's (super antioxidants)!

So sorry...it means C-reactive protein. It is a marker in your blood test. They started just adding it to my blood test several years ago. It means the amount of inflammation that you have in your body.

I do have the same issue. I find I go up and down but thus far it has been better now that I am aware and take the same actions similar to what you have been doing. Tumeric is a great choice but also found supplements that have a combination of anti-inflammatory properties are excellent to use as well, here is what I a found that helps:

A "little amount" of inflammatory foods is the same as living on "The Inflammatory Diet". Don't "try to cut back", don't "eat just a little" grain or dairy- STOP! See if you feel better and your numbers change. If, as I do, you feel as though your life is dramatically changed for the better, pay attention!

WestieLove, there is one more thing you can do-- get a full panel food allergy test done. It is a simple blood test, but it is very expensive, so you may want to make sure it is covered by your insurance plan first, or prepare to pay for it yourself. Even though you may be eating all the right things (and it sure sounds like you are doing a bang up job of that) you may be regularly eating a particular vegetable, or fruit, or nut or even an oil that you are allergic to, even if only mildly so. Sometimes we are allergic to things and we don't even know about it. A food allergy, or allergies, may be the root of your elevated CRP and inflammation. I wish you the best.
