Hiatal Hernia Surgery

Has anyone here had surgery to treat a hiatal hernia or paraesophageal hernia. I'm interested in what your experience was as far as how much it helped to relieve your symtoms and recovery time etc. I really appreciate everyone's input. Thanks.
