Would love some tips on staying cool in the heat. I am a rural mail carrier and for years have driven my own vehicle. Now the postal service is giving the rural RTS the postal trucks that have no air conditioning.

Maybe it's the postal service's way of trying to get U to retire?

Drink plenty of fluids. Bring a thermos with cold water in it. Best to U.

What exactly is this? You know postal workers do have to wear a uniform?

Wet it and put around the neck. The wristlet, wet it and put on the wrist. The pink, wet it and put on the head under a hat, if a hat or ballcap is worn otherwise wear it wet on its own.

PS: I wear clothes, too.

I'm in Phoenix so know about HEAT. Go to www.mycoolingstore.com for lots of ideas. The products you can freeze and put around your neck are great. We use them when attending the ludicrous first few ASU football games, when it's still way over 100F.

I think that website (and lots of other places) carry portable misting fans. The really bring down the temperature.

If you can, wear one of those cold neck wraps. Having the cold next to the arteries in your neck will help cool you down; same as cold wraps around your wrists. They sell them at HSN but I can't remember the name of the product. QVC used to sell something similar called Cool Downz but I don't know if they still do. Or, just carry a couple of bandanas or cotton scarves & some ice water in a thermos so you can soak the bandanas in the cold water, wring out & wrap around neck/wrists (ever see "Thelma & Louise"?)

This one here is a wristlet that you can turn it inside-out so you have 2 colors in one. The pink wrap is for your neck as well as head which doubles up as head and face for motorcyle riding and hiking on dirt trails.

NO A/C ???? {#emotions_dlg.scared}

I don't know where you are, but having a vehicle with no A/C in the summer is beyond unacceptable! (Personally, it would be worth it to ME to pay for it myself). This really makes me angry!

However ..... keep a small cooler in your vehicle. Cold sodas, cold towels, whatever makes sense.

Sorry ..... but no A/C is just NOT right ..... {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

Do you HAVE to use their vehicle? {#emotions_dlg.confused1}
