Help! I have the beginnings of a head cold, what can I take?

Just feeling icky with my sinuses feeling tight. I can breathe, but just feel achy.

Tried looking on the Internet without much success. Just says 7-10 days. Right now, I can't give up that much time to a cold. Have 8 women coming for brunch on Wednesday.

Any home remedies or over the counter help?
