Have prayed for your best, @LilacTree. I hope your appointment with the new NP goes well. The stress of all this, is the last thing you and your health needed. I hope it turns out to be a blessing in disguise.

yes they do but only under a certain protocol. They can have their licenses taken away if they do not follow that protocol.

Wrong. Doctors can terminate care with ANY patient they choose, for ANY reason.  No explanation needs to be given, just a letter to the patient telling them they have 30 days to find a new physician.

Hi @LilacTree,  last time we chatted I had an eye problem and was absolutely useless on the keyboard.  If you remember, we were commiserating about how the wrong diagnosis and course of physical therapy can really hurt you, more than help you.  Now I'm reading here that your luck is still not much better with some of this medical stuff.

I can really relate  When they hurt my right eye last week, it was after a different eye doctor messed up eye surgery on my other eye four years ago.  My husband is so afraid for me to go to any doctor because if anyone will have a problem or complication, it will be me.

If I could bring and burn sage in these medical offices to break the spell, I would!  Lol.

I hope, when you feel up to it. you'll let us know how things are going. I see there's a lot of people who know you a long time here and really care about you, and I hope that alone makes you feel a little bit better.

@Trinity11

I have to wait until April 15 to see rheumatologist.  New PCP will not prescribe prednisone either.  Have no idea how that will turn out.

as to the UTI we discussed on the other thread, it is a simple e. coli infection and PCP has prescribed Macrobid to treat it.  My daughter will pick it up tmw morning.  In the meantime I will continue to push water.

@LilacTree  why don't you check with Dr Axe online? Many people seem to get help from him?

You don't have to take his advice ,but it wouldn't hurt, just to see what he has to say

@LilacTree , I was worried that the new doctor would not prescribe it. Doctors usually won't override what another doctor does. Once she cut you off with the prednisone, she still should tell you how to taper it and prescribe a different medication.

I really hope you find a good rheumatologist who understands your reluctance to take a biologic substituting something else with fewer side effects.

Here is hoping the Macrobid helps. My urologist always says a patient can have low grade inflammation after a UTI. It takes time to heal the bladder lining. So feel better and good to hear from you...
