I took a high potency Tumeric for a couple months and felt no difference.
As for ginger, it's supposed to help with digestion, but it gave me heartburn .. and heartburn from ginger is not fun!

@Sooner, when I began to feel pain in my hands, I asked my doctor about turmeric, and he encouraged me to try it. Got the very potent kind, and tried for about 6 weeks.
Unfortunately, I'm one of the ones it doesn't seem to help. I also have been trying Relief Factor, and my hands still twinge! (Edited to add-- But I did not use them at the same time-- first did turmeric for 6 weeks, then stopped, and then did Relief Factor.) But, with Relief Factor, my knees seem slightly better, interestingly.
It was a good experiment to at least try. I figure, with all the anti-inflammatory properties, while not pain-ending, it could only be to the good, especially since my doc was fine with it.

@Sooner I take both daily. Ginger for digestion....turmeric for inflammation. Have for years.

I have taken turmeric for inflammation. Some Naturopaths will push it saying that it works to reduce inflammation. For me, it created a bright Santa Claus red face, and itchy Uticaria. I am highly allergic to it. It was almost like eating black pepper. Hence to say, it did nothing for me. Nope!

My primary care dr suggested I take turmeric about 3 years ago for my arthritic knees. She also told me to take the stuff in bio flex. It greatly helped my knee pain. I see now they are selling bio flex with tumeric. It has my 450 mg dose so I will switch to that when my supply runs out so I need one pill instead of two. I have never had any type or reaction.

I don't do caps of either but I use turmeric a lot in cooking. We always have (sugared) ginger in the house. Ginger is great for indigestion, nausea, or right after a meal for digestion. Both are good for you.

I have taken turmeric in the past but not noticed any benefit. I might give @SilleeMee's brand a trial though.
