@Shelbelle

Pure By Nature contains 600mg curcuminoids in each cap. Their "One Serving" is 1200mg (2 caps) daily. According to literature I've read (Dr. Weil's) 1500mg daily is recommended. So what I do to meet that 1500mg amount is take 3 caps (1800mg) every other day or thereabouts and that way I can stretch the 1800mg in a few days instead of taking it everyday which is too much for me. Hope that made sense.

I wish those caps were 500mg rather than 600mg. That would make it easier to count. On my calendar the even days take 3 caps, odd days take 2 caps.

Thanks, Sillie, I am so glad to see that you also trust in Dr Weil, for me his word has always been law, I believe he is one physician so learned in traditional med and in Holistic, very few like him.

I've learned so much from reading stuff on his website. Just recently I've been reading about another kind of plant root, ashwaghanda, and he has some interesting things to say about that. It's compelling me to want to start taking it.

Sillie, same for me, I have Ashwaganda on my wish list for supplements, but I already take way way too many.

I saw a new collagen brand on amazon Nutri Flair, it contains Ashwaganda, however the marine in there is tilapia, and that is not something I am willing to ingest.

@SilleeMee & @Shelbelle

Funny you should bring up ashwaganda.  I started taking it a couple of weeks ago and stopped after a few days.  I don't really have any anxiety issues, but was hoping it would be calming at night to help me fall asleep sooner. I didn't notice much of anything so after taking it about a week I quit.  Maybe I need to stick with it longer.  I did read somewhere that it shouldn't be taken longer than three months, but I don't know why.

Jean, since you still have most of ther bottle left, why not stick with it a little longer and finish the bottle, then decide on its effectiveness. Some things take a while to kick in.

@SilleeMee  The bottle instructions say to take two for 3000 mg.  That seemed like a lot so I just took one.

Re: Have You Taken Turmeric and/or Ginger Capsules?

Some important things about ashwaghanda (abbrev: ASW)...

-look for standardized root extract

-look for 2.5% withanolides content (withanolides is the active component part of ASW)

-500mg seems to be a widely recommended dail dose
