I think I look my age, but every day I wake up is a good day.

I also take 25 of Andrew Lessman,s supplements.   ITA, everyday a good day at my age. Getting ready now to do 3 miles treadmill and 5 mile bike.  Have equipment in garage.. Going to be hot in cal. So doing it now.  This is very important for my outlook and health.

I hate the getting ready for bed ritual. Tooth care, skin care, prescription meds, changing into sleep wear, eye pressure drops, wash eye area after 5 minutes to avoid red skin, and finally getting in bed. By the time I get through all of that I am not sleepy. I have tried breaking it up into segments, but that breaks up my whole evening.

The reverse happens in the morning. Same routine except for pressure drops but add a shower. I would like to just stay up or stay in bed. Knowing that is not a choice, I just needed to vent. I have a fatiguing problem that makes even the simplest tasks seem like a 5K run. Lately my fatigue has been somewhat overwhelming.

I remember my mother laughing that it took her longer to get ready for bed than to get dressed to go out. As I got older, I totally understood what she meant.

@On It @I have a similar problem. I have crushing fatigue that makes even the simplest  task a monumental ordeal. I can't stand in one place either. Between these two things I've had to give up so much. I wish you the best in your struggle with this. I really do

understand.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

@Mindy D Thank you for sharing. I am sorry you are experiencing fatigue, too. There is no way to describe how incapacitating it is. Coping is the only treatment for me. Giving up things we enjoy is frustrating, but sometimes we have no choice. I am glad to have met you on this forum, and I look forward to many stimulating conversations in the future.

@On It Your take on the perils of maintenance reminds me of a saying my mother taught me.  She would always say her golden years were pretty rusty, she had "numerous" serious health ailments, God love her!

Re: Hate Going to Bed/Getting Up in the Morning

I do all that getting ready for bed stuff well before I go to bed.

DH hates that I keep it dark in the house with what few lights that are on are dimmed down. The light tells me it's time to get up not go to sleep. LOL!!!

When I'm ready to go to sleep I turn the AC on my way to bed use the restroom & jump in bed.

When I get up in the middle of the night I don't turn on any lights. If I do I'm not going back to sleep.

I get out of bed whenever I feel like it?

DH was trying to reach me the other morning when I was still in bed so he came home to see what's up? LOL

I told him I did not feel like getting up so I didn't.

I can relate.  I stretch it out over 3 hours while I watch TV.  It's exhausting but at least when it's bedtime, I can just put my nightie on and jump in the bed.  I take my vitamins and supplements with dinner.  I wash my face, brush my teeth and do my face treatments around 8pm.  I put argan oil on my hair and pull it up into a top knot.  Around 9, I put moisturizer on my arms and legs, feet and put my night clothes and clean socks on.  At 10, I take my neurontin.  At 11, I take two other medications and finally, I go to bed at 11:30.   I get up at 6:00, jump in the shower, make a cup of coffee.  And do it all over again.  It's just crazy 🤪.

Good thing we all have a sense of humor.  I am also a big Lessman fan.  In particular, his Circulation and Vein Support has been beneficial for my legs, and Turmeric 400 Curcumin is helping my back.  I wish I could exercise more,  and I am hopeful the warm water pool I used to exercise will be reopened soon.

It’s in an assisted living facility close to where I live, open to the public for a nominal fee.  Very good for my back.

@On It  I do agree with your post. I also feel so tired. Beyond exhausted really. I think that makes even the smallest chore seem overwhelming. I am trying very hard to get to the bottom of it. Is it mental, physical or both? No answers yet but I hope I can figure it out.  My thoughts are with you.

Doctors tried to tell me it was depression, but I knew it wasn't. I had to go to several even an orthopedic surgeon was in the mix. They all had my forms I completed, but no one caught the diagnosis. I finally saw a specialist in a large city who recognized the cause.

His recommended an hour's rest every morning and an hour's rest every afternoon. This is in the reclined "Lazy Boy" position or in bed with no tv, no reading, only total quiet. The mind has got to relax so the muscles will relax. It takes time to get the fatigue under control. For me it was a little over 2 months. During that time, no household chores, no working unless you absolutely have to (those people tried a max approach to resting on the weekends.) The hardest part was not being able to leave the house for more than an hour at a time.

If you have the opportunity to follow this protocol it might help you get better while you are looking for the cause. I know how awful this is and how it compromises your lifestyle. I hope you find the causes and can eliminate it.
