I am being treated for breast cancer.  I have had chemotherapy and surgery (lumpectomy and removal of 4 sentinel lymph nodes).  I will be starting radiation therapy soon.

After surgery, my doctor decided to use 14 cycles of Kadcycla.  I have had one dose last week.  Wondering if anyone has used it and what you thought.  I had some fatigue and intermittent nausea.  My platelets are a little low.

Anyone have experience with this?

Re: Has anyone used Kadcycla?

I had the same condition 8 years ago.  Lumpectomy surgery, chemo and radiation.  I was not given this particular drug, not sure if it was available then or not.    I gather it has something to do with attacking the cancer cells, which seems beneficial.   No matter, you will have side effects regardless as you already know.

I just wanted to wish you well and let you know that those of us out here who have been down this road are pulling for you.

Godspeed!

Re: Has anyone used Kadcycla?

I had my second treatment with it yesterday - going to have 14.  I think it is one of the newer ones - targets HER2+.

Feel like I have been hit with a cement truck.  Feeling pretty weak, shaky, and intermittant nausea.  This is my second go round with chemo, so I have something to compare it to.  Just resting most of the time for now.

Going to have consult for radiation soon.  Is it whining to say I am burned out of feeling lousy and all this????
