My youngest daughter is finally having her nasal polyps removed after years of chronic sinus infection.  I'm glad and nervous at the same time.  I know quite a few people whose nasal issues were worsened by surgery.

It's tomorrow and my other daughter is going with her.  She will have to take a week off work.  Doc tells her it's a "nothing" procedure and she will be fine.  She surely needs the relief.

Anyone?

My ex-BIL had surgery to remove them - he too had sinus problems and unfortunately still did after the surgery - I'm not sure - but I think they can grow back and I believe his did.

My mom had this surgery several times.  She had allergies and asthma (now deceased). The surgery always helped her, but the polyps grew back.  When she used steroid nasal sprays they didn't grow back as quickly.

Just received a text from my one daughter that my youngest daughter's procedure is over, and the doc said she should recover well and in a week to ten days feel like a new person.

She had much pus and many polyps . . . she had been putting this off for two years.  He said no blowing her nose or sneezing (how does one stop a sneeze?) and NO EXERCISING.  That's the part she will hate the most.

Anyway, the procedure is over, now we see how the recovery goes.  I am so relieved.  She has taken a week off and will be able to play with her kitties and rest for a change.  My bet is the dark circles under her eyes will improve as well, so she'll look better.  Whew!
