Re: Has anyone had experience with Social Security Disability attorneys?

The only way you csn be denied a handicap card is if your MD refuses to sign the necessary forms for you to get one. It is the MD that signs the form that you are handicap and needs one..You then take it to the issuing authority. That may differ from state to state..but in our state the Local Town Clerk issues them.

It is a simple one page form...the MD..puts in a diagnosis..checks off short term or long term..and then signs it and dates it..as you do..

you can have a short term one for six months or a long term one (renewable every five years with no further MD documentation..) ...they put the last four digits of your license on them with the town and zip.

There are cheats in every system we all know that without a doubt,

I know a few myself..

Not yet. But that is an option.

My daughter did pick up her file today without any problems. So at least that issue is over.

That is the end all of all tests and that will give them the results she needs.. With all of this going on for almost half of her life why hasn't it taken place? I know most neurologist when confronted with chronic case like this that is the test they do to give them the answers.

I went to one for Migraines and the did a very large panel of blood work..and one of them was the lyme titer test..he said it is the test everybody has to have ..as it can be the answer to many difficult cases.

Mine actually came back that i had it at some point but thank goodness never knew it..!!

Infectious Disease MD with Spinal is what she is going to need to win any disability case. They want the specialists.

Keep us posted.

I don't know why she has not had that test yet. The doctor she is going to see in January will undoubtedly bring that up. So far all she has had are the usual tests one gets in the ER, many, many blood tests and lab workups, stool samples, MRI, I'm not sure if she's had a CT scan or not. I can't remember the name of the lab that diagnosed the Lyme, but I do know regular MDs don't use it.

I will definitely keep you posted because I am using this dialog to copy to my journal on this issue. There has been wonderful input within this thread and I want to keep it for reference.

It appears a class action suit has been started. Erin is going to do everything she can to join this litigation. This link doesn't give enough information, but I'm sure there's more info on the web.

Ford, did you read my post about having your daughter call BINDER & BINDER? They only specialize in SSD cases and their rate of getting it approved is phenomenal.

I have approached her several times about Binder and Binder. She recently said she wants to see what the Lyme doctor has to say before she considers filing for disability. She said the most important thing to her is getting well (which, of course, it is). When she does finally make up her mind about filing, I will push B&B and hopefully she will take my (our) advice.
