Yes, I had it done when I injured my back. My leg was experiencing pain. They were trying to see where there was a pinched nerve.
It tingles a bit, but it's not painful and my doctor who did it (a specialist in EMG) was a hoot. She jollied me through all the tests and I remember it being no big deal. It sounds a LOT worse than it is.

I've had it done on both arms for carpal tunnel and both legs. It's not pleasant, but it's gives the doctors important information. I've had lot worse things. It's something that needs to be done. Don't go in with the expectation that it's going to be so bad you are going to stop it. You will stress yourself so much it will make it hurt when it's not necessary.

Your oncologist should have recommended L-glutamine be taken "during" chemo to prevent neuropathy. People also take B12 injections which seem to help, but you can google this and/or ask your oncologist about them.

I was, as it turns out years later, misdiagnosed at one time with having carpal tunnel, and this test was recommended. I did not take the test, and dealt with my hand issues in other ways. Now, years later, I don't have the same symptoms I had back then, so for me, not taking the test was the right thing to do, but then I tend to go with my gut feelings about things, and everyone is different.

I had this done on both arms many years ago and I don't remember any pain. I know others said how bad this was. I had both the invasive one and noninvasive one and I thought the noninvasive one was worse.

Goldenlocks, I've never been through childbirth but I have had colon cancer surgery.....you reminded me of something I didn't want to remember. I have the first of these EMG's scheduled for Wednesday, then on Thursday I have to go to the dentist and get a cavity filled. Lovely week it will be.
My dad has had this done. He said it was not to bad. I know what you mean about being in a panic. I also get the same way before any type of medical test. I think we all do. It's the not knowing what's going to happen. Hope it goes well for you.

It's not unbearable, but it isn't pleasant either. I had EMGs on both arms for carpal tunnel syndrome, I never bothered with the surgery.
