At 3AM our electric went off and I woke up suffocating because my CPAP had shut off and so I could not get any air. I ripped it off my face as fast as possible and was gasping for air. Now I've been awake since 3AM. I have seen online that you can buy a battery backup for CPAP machines and DH thinks I need to do so in case of a hurricane and we lose power for an extended period of time. I can sleep without the CPAP if I sleep in a recliner but my back would be killing me if I slept in a recliner all night.
If anyone has purchased this , please tell me if you are happy with it. We have a small generator so I'd be easily able to recharge it every day for as long as needed.

@151949 glad you are ok! Sounds dangerous. I hope you have luck with finding a better backup.

It's not really dangerous because you wake up and take it off. However, it is frightening to wake up this way as you don't gradually wake - you instsantly wake.
