Has any one had experince with EMR Procedure (bowel procedure)?

My DH had a colonscopy this am...results are mixed so we are waiting (10 days!) for a pathology report. One polyp was to large to remove and the doctor said DH could have an EMR procedure as long as the polyp is not cancer....just curious if anyone has any experience..thanks

When I was hospitalized in 2008 and had 5 Colonoscopies and 2 Double Balloon Enteroscopies looking for the source of my right colon bleeding, the doctors were talking about doing a resection.

The lower Double Balloon procedure found the source of the bleeding and the doctor was able to stop the bleeding using a Laser.

Unfortunately this lasted less than 3 years, and in 2011, I wss back getting more Endoscopies/Colonoscopies and 5 more Double Balloon(upper and lower) procedures. Along with these were over 50 blood transfusions any many iron infusions.

They once again were talking about a resection, but so far to this date, the 3 Titanium Clips are keeping the bleeding at bay. I did however have to make a decision to quit taking Coumadin(Warfarin) blood thinners or I doubt I would be saying this on this post.

Not an easy decision as I had already managed to survive 2 separate bouts with Lung Blood Clots(PE). That is about all I can tell you about a resection procedure. My bleeding was not because of any polypts, as I have never had anh of t

hem.

I Wish you and your husband to be well,
