My daughter had the injection yesterday, two other ones a year ago failed her. This one is in a different spot. My sister-in-law had one in her neck after a car accident and that was all she needed, Fine after that.
I didn't work for my husband's sciatic nerve.

@gloriajean I had an injection in my hip that did absolutely nothing for me. I ended up with hip surgery, a staph infection and over 2 years of trying to recover..

I don’t know if this counts or not.Years ago when I went into labor to have my son the pains were absolutely unbearable. The doctor couldn’t get me to relax .He finally agreed to give me an epidural. It calmed me down so much that I almost fell asleep. I felt nothing but relaxed.I was then able to push my son out without a problem.

Had them twice in my neck, both times great results within the first 24 hours. Only thing is they don't last very long, just 2-3 mos. So finally had cervical surgery and that fixed the problem. HTH

My GD had one injection last week and it hasn't helped so far. She has a bulging disk in her lower back. The Dr. said it would take 3 injections to shrink the disk. If that doesn't work she will have surgery, but the Dr. doesn't want to do that because she's only 23. She's having so much trouble dealing with the constant pain. They won't give her any pain killers (opiods).

I have had temporary relief from a series of epidurals- improvement in pain lasted 3-6 months. I have 5 inched nerves in back and a trapped nerve in arm etc. relief for me was gradual- over weeks.
It is critical the needle go into exact place-often that takes several attempts.
Epidurals are not a cure, just temporary relief. Some people get permanent relief-it is basically a deep targeted shot of steroid and numbing agent.
Good luck to your dd.

Pain injections work for some people but not for other people. All pain is different and all bodies are different.
