Re: Had my breast biopsy today

@fairydogmother  You seem , to me, one of the nicest people here (I am not here often, but intend to be once I can retire 😬). I seem to remember that you had asked about this procedure and I did not want to answer. Everyone is different. I have a very high pain tolerance. Not to get into it too much, and I am breathing deeply remembering this, I did not want to tell you my experience. In short, my ultrasound showed 3 spots in one breast that needed to be biopsied. I had 4 clips in each spot (12 in one breast!) with no Novocain, nothing. I seem to remember leaving the hospital in shock... I am not sure... I didn't talk, I did nothing. My husband, as we were leaving, asked what was wrong with me. I couldn't answer. I just hope for you and anyone experiencing this that everything turns out well!!  Everyone on this thread.... I hope all is well! Nobody knows what one is going on in their lives, ❤️💚💜

Re: Had my breast biopsy today

earlier this year I had a mammogram that showed some calcifications. I have a re-check in a couple of weeks. Is that the same as a biopsy?

@JFD12 First of all, I love that you are a Bruins fan, LOL!  I'm a born and bred New England girl.

But on a serious note I know exactly what you went through.  I did the very same thing as you, walked out of the procdure room after getting dressed and met my DH in the waiting room.  All he said to me was "what happened?" and like you I could not even speak at that moment.  God Bless, and bless all the ladies that endure what they must for their health.

Definitely not same thing. You will probably either have an ultrasound or a diagnostic mammogram. A biopsy is when a needle gets inserted in the breast  to retrieve a sample tissue of the suspicious area to test it for cancer.

No if they said a "recheck" they are going to do another scan and/or a sonar.  Then if it cannot be determined clearly you will have a biopsy.  Prayers to you.

I'm confused. I thought you were a nurse?
