Re: Had first vaccine last week

I've got mine booked for next week.  I was in two minds about it, because they're still not sure how it affects those with RA, but I've decided to take my chances with a flare-up.  Better that than coronavirus.

My DH got his last week; the J&J one-dose.  I was advised to get either the Pfizer or Moderna, so that's why I haven't had it yet.  I'm hoping it doesn't affect me too badly.

Re: Had first vaccine last week

@Venezia  I also have RA and had my second shot yesterday.  I had no issues with the 1st shot not even a sore arm. So far, and I know its early but no issues with the 2nd one, no sore arm.  I talked with my rheumatologist about the vaccine and he said it should be ok.  At this point, I don't think anyone know what the long term effect will be.

Re: Had first vaccine last week

I got my first today.  My son works for Pfizer , and family members are now being scheduled for the vaccine.

It was awesome, I didn't even have to get out of the car.  So relieved..........

Had Moderna Vaccine yesterday shot # 1. No problems just some soreness at the injection site which I anticipated. Return in 28 days for shot # 2.

@Venezia

I've had both Moderna shots and DH (who has auto immune disease) had both Pfizer shots, neither of us had any side effects other than site soreness.

Re: Had first vaccine last week

@Venezia: My mother in law who will be 93, had her first Moderna vaccine yesterday. She has RA really bad and the only side effects she had. Was a little sore arm, a low grade fever and slight fatigue. She took a Tylenol laid down for awhile. And was feeling better in about a couple of hours.Woman Happy

Which vaccine did you get and did you have any bad side effects?  I wouldn't get too concerned about variants. Why concern yourself with something else now that you have had your first shot? At least wait till there is more information.

@Venezia

I have had RA since age 17.  Had second Moderna  March 3.   No problem yet, strongly advised by Immunologist.

Good Wishes.
