DH and I have both been seeing a lot about grounding.  I have had neuropathy in my feet and baby fingers on both hands for years.  I also have a back pain that won't go away and inconsistent sleep patterns.  We decided to try a grounding sheet and mat.  They arrived the other day.  Today we put fresh linens on the bed and put the grounding sheet on.  It fits like the contour/bottom sheet on the whole bed, not just a strip of material.

I told DH I was going to take a nap and try it out.  I went up at 2:30PM and slept hard.  He woke me at 5:00PM!  Believe it or not, my back pain was lessened.  Not gone, but noticeable improvement.  I'm anxious to see what happens tonight.  Tomorrow I'll start with the mat.

Please give an update, @JeanLouiseFinch , after a few weeks.  This is something I may want to look into.  I have leg aches and cramps at night.  While homeopathic tablets and ibuprophen help, I would like to eliminate the ibuprophen.

I have been using Hypericum for the finger and foot tingling.  This is helping that quite a bit.

TIA

@tends2dogs - I wanted to touch base with you.  I know it sounds like some kind of hocus pocus mumbo jumbo but this grounding stuff is working for me.  The back pain I mentioned before has been a constant for well over a year.  It continues to lessen.  Still not completely gone but much better.  I've been off my neuropathy supplements for several weeks prior to the mat arriving.  I'm using the mat daily and I'm noticing improvement in my feet.  They're still numb, but I have a little more flexibility in my ankle I'm not noticing the prickly pain if I walk without shoes. I only do short trips.  Going barefoot for any length of time still is not an option for me, I need shoes or supportive slippers for stability, but I'm pleased with the current results.  I've also noticed improvement in my hands. I still have some numbness but the soreness in my joints has lessened.  I'm sleeping better too.

Take it for what it's worth, but I'm pleased with my results.

Thanks so much for the update.  This is something I may have to look into. Many alternative ideas seem like hocus pocus, but are truly valid.  I have used many and know they work.

Where did you purchase yours?  I hope you have continued improvement.  Another reason folks don't use or want to even give alternatives a chance is that they aren't overnight fixes.

Thanks again.

@tends2dogs - we ordered ours from The Grounding Co.  It wasn't cheap, but there was a special where the mat came free with the purchase of the sheet.  There are other companies out there that may be worth looking at as well.

While I'm familiar with grounding/earthing, this is the first I've heard of a mat producing the same effect.

Traditional grounding has been proven to reduce inflamation in the body. Walking barefoot in grass or on sand is beneficial. You can also use a chair and sit if mobility is an issue. If his disorder is linked to inflamation the practice can help.

An electronic device replacing Mother Nature? Here I'd be skeptical but if they offer a return policy, give it a try!

@Snowpuppy Sorry to restart an old thread, I sat outside with my barefoot in the grass and well my sleep was worse than normal which if normally pretty bad

@JeanLouiseFinch ...Yes, this is an older thread but wondering if you are still using the grounding sheets?  Thinking about if for my husband that has hip pain, with no relief in months even tho he has seen an ortho, had shots, went thru several month of PT.  Thanks

Yes, we are, @Mom2Dogs.  In fairness, I want to believe it's doing something but I can't be certain that it alone is responsible.  We do what we can for the status of our health and flexibility.  I don't want to take pain meds.  Since I only have one kidney I'm limited to Tylenol, no NSAIDS.  In addition to the grounding sheet, I go for massages monthly, chiropractic adjustments (2x per month right now), live a sugar free lifestyle, don't drink pop,  drink a good amount of regular tap water daily, and try to walk around our neighborhood regularly.  The goal is daily but it's usually five days a week.

If you get a sheet (it's only a bottom sheet), be advised that it cannot go in the clothes dryer.  It has to air dry after washing.

@JeanLouiseFinch   Thanks for the reply.  I might give it a try, but will wait to see what my husband's doctor says about his him when he has an appt. next week.  Answers would be nice but not holding my breath, 6 months and no real diagnosis.

You know what better than a grounding mat?

Go walk in the grass bare foot

The electro magnetic energy in the ground can be transmitted as you walk

outside

Better than a mat plugged in

Yes!  Thanks, @katie1859.  I neglected neglect to include this in my last reply.  We can only do it three seasons out of the year where we live.
