When I was going through the determination whether I had Hodgkins, Lymphoma or Leukemia (turned out to be Sarcoidosis), I visited a lot of doctors and one had a sign on his desk that I've always remembered.... it said:
"With all the diseases in the world.... the miracle is when we're well...."
I thought it was right on.....

I like that! Even though I am not free from disease, I count my blessings every day.

Yes, we take our good health for granted. I try not to, because when my joints are aching I think of what some of our posters are going through, and I tell myself to shut up, and keep moving.

I feel that way about the miracle of birth---just getting here is a miracle as well.

One of my girls has Sarcoiod. I don't think I've heard of anyone else who has it. I'd like to hear more about how it is affecting you. So far, she has no internal effects, but she worries constantly. I hate this for her - and for you. We've never heard of it in our family before.

Mine (they suspect) was attributed to having two raging infections for over a month. They didn't even know I had two separate infections until blood was drawn after 30 days and two courses of antibiotics. Then they were able to address the second, more rare one. For a year afterwards I had strep throats at least every three weeks with more antibiotics. Then came the bronchial pneumonia and X-rays and cat scans. I also had no immune system left and was incredibly weak. The only way to determine what it was, was to take a biopsy of my lymph nodes. That came back as positive for Sarcoidosis. Pulmonary Sarcoidosis.
But by that time the nodes in my neck were remissing~!! I was tied to my Pulmonary doctor for nearly 18 years, going once a year to him and my opthmologist (until they could no longer "see" it in my eyes).
Then the Sarcoidosis started spontaneously remissing in my chest (where my lymph nodes were the size of lemons). I never had the rash that is associated with it. I never had to take any medication to reduce the swelling and inflamation~! It sponaneously went totally away on its own and I've never been bothered with it again!! 18 years was a long time to still go to my Pulmonary specialist but even he didn't quite believe it and thought I'd have a relapse. Fortunately I didn't.... I thank God every day, I really do....
This and the serious fall I had in 2010 are two of my life events where I thank God for my life. Every day in every way.....
I pray for the very best for your daughter and for the very best outcome.....
