The point of your post is something I've known for awhile, but was visualized thru watching an old 9-1-1 episode. Children called first responders about their dad in a retirement home; he barricaded himself in his room and they suspected something was seriously wrong with him.

Turned out that dad had a raging STD and was transported for treatment. First responders announced to all female residents sitting in the lounge that any them who had visited with this man needed to follow them to the hospital to be checked. ALL of them women stood up. One man stood up and asked if the men who visited with any of the women who had visited with that man, also needed to be treated, which then prompted every man to stand up!

Now that's what I call an active retirement home!

The patient sends samples to the lab. If the result is positive the lab will inform the patient and the state.
