I saw the Ortho doc today and he said He is only going to do the mini procedures. He hesitated when I asked about this last spring but now he said that if they do the Mayko procedure on one side of the knee and then in a few years the other side goes they will be able to do the mini proc. again - whereas previously they would have had to do a TKR the second time. Since both my knees are only bad on the inner side I will have them both done by the mini procedure. This will save me several hundreds of dollars because my ins. requires a $300/day copay for the hospital and a $30 per treatment for the PT and they will both be reduced. Only one night in the hospital - Yeahhh. And he scheduled the first one for 11 days from now - i am very anxious for it to be over with.
He told me I have to quit taking my NSAID for my pain and he offered to give me a prescription for codiene - sheesh - I told him I think I can get by with just Tylenol. So , I guess I need to go buy some tylenol.
