Got an email today from our Safeway pharmacy saying they expect to get vaccine eventually and inviting us to sign up ( we did).  Obviously this isn't Pfizer ( cold storage issue) but since we are a small town we expected that only CVS and Walgreens would be involved; this is good news!

Wow, Congrats! Did you sign up in one of the priority levels? (I'm 1b).

I, too, am a 1b.  I wonder when that'll be.

Very lucky to get thru to make appointment and got the Moderna Vaccine yesterday at Cleveland Clinic (Fl).

DH and I did not feel it. Joked that maybe they didn't give it to us!

But, yes, they did. Arm mildly sore today, no other effects.Return on January 28 for 2nd dose.

Dental hygienist DIL has not been able to get one! Waited at another hospital for hours. Ran out😔

We were lucky.

Senator Romney proposed a way to fairly and efficiently distribute vaccine.  This is NOT political (I'm not even in his party).  He is on right track; I emailed both my senators and governor with my support of his plan.

@patbz @Have not heard Romney's plan. But a plan is needed. This should not be like winning the lottery; that is what I told the person who gave me the vaccine.

Here in Florida every county does their own thing. Some seniors camping out, others calling, calling, calling with recording of sorry, callback. Healthcare personnel also searching. My 90 year old aunt waiting for her doctor to call her. News station reporting websites to register but they have crashed.

I was one of a few lucky ones.

There needs to be a plan.

Romney's plan should be all over news today; he says Feds should distribute a template for administering vaccines to States ( they can use or not). Says hospitals/CVS/Walgreens are already in over their heads just dealing with outbreaks.  Says other sources for giving vaccines need to be explored, including veterinarians, medical retirees. Says within established groups (1a,1b etc) should be done by birthdays. Says large vacant places, like schools, should be used.  There is much more.  Maybe President should put Romney in charge of program?

I know two women, both in their 80s and both with health concerns. One’s doctor called her and offered her one of 3 doses she had left. The other woman’s doctor told her not to risk getting the vaccine.

It has been a little over a week since this thread was started.

I have not heard of anyone in my area getting the shot except medical personell. And one of my relatives who works in a hospital was offered the shot and she refused it, saying there isn't enough known about it for her to take it.

Saw a news report yesterday, showing a line of cars in Tennessee where they were getting the shot, a young lady was griping about having to wait. The reporter sounded like it was just your average Joe getting them there.

I'll be happy to take the shot, but no telling how long it will be.

I called Walgreen's yesterday.  A "recording" answered the phone and said something like:  We do not have the vaccine and will not be making appointments or making lists of names to get the vaccine.  Thank you.  Goodbye.   (Short and sweet)

I called my doctor's office and they told me none of them had been able to get vaccinated yet.

What's going on?
