Just heard this on news. Looked it up.....Europe banned it. I get dip nails as hubby likes it. I am ready to go natural. It was on news today. It's always something.

I wish our FDA was the same health care people they had in Europe! They have banned so many things that they think are harmful that we still use everyday!

I have never gotten gel nails but I'm glad to know that.

I was just at the salon getting my nails done earlier today.  We were talking about it.  Gel nails are popular but I just get regular polish.

Accorting to my nail tech, OPI doesn't use the chemical that is banned in Europe.

I've known about gel polish being harmful for a good while so have never gotten it.

SOME gel polishes have TPO. Some say this is harmful. There is a good article how the study was conducted on NBC website. I would be more concerned with the light used to set the polish.

I have worn gel polish for over 15 years, without issues. It gets changed every two weeks, but other than during covid it has been on my nails.

I have long, strong natural nails, I dont use gel or dip because the removal process could ruin my nails, not taking that chance.

I get OPI UV polish every 2-3 weeks and do not plan on stopping unless it gets banned here.  I have heard the same about OPI in that they're in the clear.

Not only are the chemicals bad but so is the light they use to dry the gel. That light can cause cancer even though the risk is small. If you get it done a lot then that risk goes up.
