Game Changers last night.....

[ Edited ]

Was everything I expected it to be.....how could it be a miss with James Cameron directing.  The theatre was packed and the excitement was palpable. ( I wish that I could retrieve the information presented at the beginning of the film that quoted Bruce Lee.)  I learned new information and throughout the film, I kept thinking yes, I just learned that fact and realized later when Nimai Delgado appeared that it was because earlier in the week I had been listening to a few of his YouTube videos (interesting background) and the film presented some information that he had expressed in his presentations.

Loved that there was so much science and history presented.  I thought the visual demonstrations were compelling and revealing.  You can't deny the truth of blood tests.  Athletes willing to change up their way of life due to the evidence presented.

Wish that everyone with an open mind and a willingness to make some lifestyle changes for a healthier more vibrant way of life would watch this film. Love what Patrik Baboubian said at the end of the film....about power and strength.  A moving and inspiring film that will serve to keep me on track, but more importantly will hopefully inspire those seeking a healthy fulfilling life.

@phoenixbrd

I sat there in a full theatre, soaking it all in, thinking....

”we could’ve written that d*mn movie!!!!”

Seriously...every segment was something we’ve talked

about here in these threads. The science is so solid.

The human body is very ‘finite.’ It responds to the

right nutrition we give it.  Every. Single. Time.

I agree....there was so much science. I can’t wait to watch

it again when it comes out on DVD/Netflix, etc.

There was one part I jotted down....about heme iron.

When they experimented w/ beef/chicken/pork vs beans....

for every 1gr of animal protein/heme iron, CVD rose 27%!!

O.n.l.y ONE gram.

Loved the way one of those Titan football players

mentioned, ”I thought asparagus only came out 5 yrs ago.”

😆😆😆😆

I thought it was a great reinforcement of what we know and to keep with this WOE. 👍🏻

I really do think it will make an impact on the Professional Athlete

level. Then hopefully it will trickle down to the amateur athletes &

then to the average household.

The Plant Based Movement is so strong right now.

I feel a change happening...a paradigm shift!

I hope so!

@sidsmom   Agree....we could have completed the sentences for a lot of the dialogue.  I did think the results of the testing were reveling in how quickly and significantly the damage is done....the fat in the test tube after eating ONE hamburger or the bean burritos vs. the chicken/beef.  We already knew the damage that would occur but that the evidence is readily available immediately was a surprise.

We know this information and are practicing what the film promotes....the test will be how influential it will be in the community of people willing to try a new lifestyle.  So many dealing with weight/health issues yet not ready to change up their lifestyle.  The goal and raison d'etre for this film is impact on peoples' lives.

An aside thought while watching this film:  We were in Italy last month for a conference.  We visited the Coliseum and had an excellent tour guide extremely knowledgeable about the history.  I was curious when the discussion arose about the gladiator's diet.  It was primarily plant based.  But not because it was recognized as the best diet, but because it was cheap.

On a humorous note:  my husband sat next to a guy with a huge bucket of buttered popcorn...we both laughed at the irony.  (But we were glad he was there getting schooled Smiley Wink )

I'm pleased that you liked the film & enjoy living that lifestyle BUT what I don't like about the movement (by some not all) is the we know better than they do attitude & that it needs to be forced on people by banning & shaming. I know people who live a plant based life & several are open minded but the others aren't happy running their own life, they want to run yours too.

@sidsmom  I need to see it again!  I loved it, really well done film, and those athletes were all so amazing.

I've been struggling with staying WFPB compliant, letting SOS back in my diet, but I feel like seeing Game Changers has set me back on my path.

@phoenixbrd  There were a few tubs of buttered popcorn where I saw it too, but most of the audience brought their own healthy snacks.  The theater did not make any money off of concessions with this film!
