I did a search here and couldn't find anything on this topic - so pardon me if it's been brought up before recently.

I have an appt with a surgeon next week to schedule me for gall bladder removal. I assume it will be done laporscopically -- if I have a choice, that's what I want anyway. I'm concerned about recovery and living without a gall bladder for years to come. I've been reading online and there's some good and some seriously scarey information out there.

My job is only giving me 2 weeks off -- will I be able to go back to work 2 weeks after surgery? Will I be on a restricted diet? How much pain after surgery? I'm 63 and fairly healthy -- diabetes II that is very well managed.

Anyone have any helpful information for me? I'd appreciate it. Thank you.
