Fructose Intolerance -anyone have this?

I am waging a ongoing war with this condition. I would welcome any helpful hints on dealing with this.

How do you know it is fructose? What are your symptoms? Happens when you eat real fruit?

I was wondering the same thing. If you get symptoms when eating fruit you may have an allergy to a specific group i.e. berries or citrus or you could have a salicylate sensitivity and if that's the case you can only eat low salicylate fruits. I have a salicylate sensitivity.

A friend's son has this. Before the diagnosis, she and he went thru every doctor and procedure imaginable. He avoids fruit and fruit juices and is so much better. As a teenager, he suffered a lot of missed school days and embarrassment from the symptoms. Good luck to you.

Yes I have been diagnosed by a gastroenterologist. The test usually takes a few hours. The test was pure misery as I tested very positive immediately. Half way through the results were so positive they said I could probably go home.

It's not just fruit or juice. Fructose is in an amazing variety of foods. It is also used in deli meats and hams. It is in tomatoes, carrots and sweet potatoes. I have a long list of foods to avoid.
