Sea Maiden, thank you so much for offering a helpful suggestion-I  was hoping to get some first hand info from people  who have no "dog in the fight"..Instead I got a lot of judgemental answers from people who evidently didnt read my post asking for answers from people who have tried it-

It  is easy to opine and judge, and we all do it, but when someone asks for replies with first hand   experience, perhaps those who do not shouldnt answer-

Only you and one other poster have offered anything of substance to this post-

Thank you

Re: Forskolin for weight loss

@Mothertrucker

I sense a hesitation....why not try it & report back?

I can guarantee a weight loss plan.

Not forskolin, but effective if followed 100%.

Thank you @sidsmom If you t ake a look at my picture- It was taken last year- However, about 20 years ago, I lost over 180 lbs and have kept it off, as you can see- but after turning 60 last year, I find that my same eating and exercise plan, is  not maintaining my weight- I have gone up about 5 lbs in the last year, and though I am very busy and active (I work 50+ hours a week)  I find that my weight seems to have "redistributed"  if that makes sense-

I have heard about this supplement (obviously not HERE! LOL!!,)  it comes from the Coleus plant, and has been used in Eastern medicine for centuries- It has been shown in some studies to increas an enzyme which helps hormone sensitive lipids from  the adipose ( fatty) tissues..

This hormonal effect is not lost on me, as I went through Menopause at 59 and feel this insidious weight gain is incidental to that..

I think I will try it, it isnt expensive, and doesnt appear to be contraindicated to any of the medications I currently take-

If I do, I will report back, in the mean time, if anyone HAS tried it, please let me know what you thought

Re: Forskolin for weight loss

[ Edited ]

I tried it . It was a long time ago . It gave me very loose bowel movements after 2 days and that was a problem . It did depress my appetite and I did lose some weight . However it wasn't a lot because the side effect  was hard to deal with so I stopped taking it . It seemed to be pretty safe though and a lot of people say that. The singer Adele took it for a few months and lost 25 lbs on it . She said her doctor recommended it because it was safe and can actully benefit your heart. She said her doctor said to take it first thing when she got up with a hot cup of tea and wait half an     hour before she ate breakfast . She took in the evening also . Don't take too much of it. I think the recommended dose is 250 up to 500 mg a day. but you should check that.  I am not sure about the dose . It was a long time ago . It is made from Coleus leaves.

cathy from ma

@Mothertrucker Don’t  you just love when people write a review and say I don’t know how it works because I just got it today - what!

Re: Forskolin for weight loss

@Mothertrucker No, I haven't tried it, but as I read your post, I could relate to much of it.  I also turned 60 recently, and although I'm continuing to exercise and eat as before, I've put on 5 pounds that all seem to have settled in my midsection.

Would love to lose these 5 pounds, 10 would be better!

I just looked this up on Amazon, and placed an order.  It will be here tomorrow.  Why don't we compare notes, once we start using it?
