Maybe she gets paid...
If you know how to pair your carbs properly with fat and protein, you can get your numbers under control pretty quickly.

@CelticCrafter This doctor does not look like one I would listen to for advice. He was in trouble and had his probation extended for reusing needles for injections, ("reusing single use injection devices"), according to the link. I've not looked into this, but just this one blemish on his record is bad enough to steer me away. He comes off as just a money grabber hawking his ideas. I do not get good vibes about this doctor at all.

@Ainhisg and the others who keep reading this ******, could we stop encouraging this OP by responding to her Threads? No two people are alike and if the OP and her husband believe in this so called person, just let them.
Sometimes I think she does this just to aggrevate the Posters. Can we send her off to never, never land?
I'm done and I feel so much better. WWWWooowww!! That felt good.
Good night everyone and have a pleasant and peaceful weekend. WOW!!

The OP listed three names of "experts" here. Two are chiropractors who sell books, supplements and access to diets. The third also sells things, and has had his medical license suspended at least twice. $$$$
@mom2four0418 the OP does this on purpose. Wouldn't be surprised if she is related to the so called what ever you want to call him.

I am grateful that I decided to give the ketogenic way of eating a try. I wasn't sure I could stick with it. The first two weeks, transistioning, was a little rocky, but once I was over the keto flu and my body got used to MCT oil, I felt a lot better. Two years and four months later, clothes shopping is fun, I get lots of compliments, people call me skinny. I'm grateful for the 150 lb. weight loss, but moreso for the return of health, agility, stamina, better sleep, better cognition, feeling terrific, knowing I'm doing the best for my brain to prevent Alzheimers/dementia, cancer prevention, anti-aging skincare, etc., and we really love the food. If any of you see my food post in the monthly threads, who can tell me I'm suffering or eating unappetizing meals? We don't feel deprived and we are not suffering. I had a cardiologist check up the other day. He said my recent lab results are beautiful. Thanks to keto, daily intermittent fasting, and faithfully planning and tracking my food, I've reversed insulin resistance and prediabetes. Done correctly, healthfully, and cleanly, daily fiber requirements are not an issue. I eat plenty of green veggies in addition to our limited amounts of berries.
There are many keto coaches/experts and then there are others like The Keto Dad who will make some decent recipes but then make allowances for poor ingredients and you can make it all better by taking his Pruvit supplements and exogenous ketones. Taking exogenous ketones, IMO, will only give a reading on a pee strip, not put you into true ketosis. I follow Dr. Berg for a lot of things but don't always agree 100%. The fact that he's a chiropractor isn't a bad thing. He's not practicing anymore, but that's beside the point. In their medical training, chiropractors have more nutrition classes required than MD's.

If you get your body into ketosis, it can cause heart problems. I kept passing out, my potassium was low and my heart muscle was affected.
It's okay to cut down on sugar and junky carbs, but be careful, your body needs good carbs for you to live.
That really isn't totally accurate. Ketosis doesn't cause heart trouble, it's the lack of potassium. Yes, we will get some carbs from our salads and veggies, but the body will make carbs so we don't have to eat a lot. Your problem is that you didn't take in enough electrolytes. Potassium is necessary for heart function. We need 4700 mg. of potassium daily. It's true, it's difficult to get all of that through diet when limiting certain foods so supplementation is in order. The other side of the coin is that it's important not to go over and consume more potassium than we need because that can be dangerous too.

@JeanLouiseFinch Without writing a book, I followed a low carb diet directed by a MD. I went in weekly for blood tests and I was taking pototassium supplements because it was low.
I was also checked to make sure I was in ketosis. it was an easy diet to follow and I did great..lost weight and felt wonderful until I didn't.
The doctor would no longer allow me to be on the diet and he dropped me. But, I continued on my own.
Bottom line, I was sent to the hospital by ambulance and I was not in good shape.
I am not diabetic and have no health converms..no high blood pressure, etc. I just wanted to lose post baby weight. I could have died.
I admit to still doing low carbs when I need to lose a few lbs, but no more ketosis for me. no matter what you think or what you have read, this can cause you harm and even death.
it took me a long time to realize this. The diet got the pounds off and that's all I cared about at the time.
I still carry a few extra pounds, but I am healthy otherwise and I intend to stay this way. There is not a one size fits all as far as extreme diets go. Some are harmful for some people.
