Sometime their cash price is cheaper than some insurances.
Costco IS great for the most part. If their price is cheaper than my insurance co-pay, they always just charge me their price and let me know they did that just as a heads up. And one Rx is about $3 and they don't even charge me for it!
However, the antibiotic I needed for my dog was still going to be close to $400 at Costco (similar to Walmart's price with the good Rx coupon). I was able to get it at Rite Aid and Walgreens the cheapest, about $300. Out of pocket price for it without a coupon would have been $500.

This comes at a perfect time. My mom, age 83, doesn't have Part D, so no scripts are paid for. Recently she had a stroke, no long lasting affects, but needs to be on HBP meds and a statin and also an anti depressant. Rather than pay the extra $$ for Part D she never got her meds filled. At WalMart for generics, it's $65 a month. I checked the GoodRX and that will be perfect for her until she can enroll in Part D.
Can a new coupon be printed every month?
Thanks for this great information.

Nevermind - sorry - i mis read.

You need to look into this carefully - medicare REQUIRES you have Rx drug coverage and when you do not - and then you go to sign up for it - they charge you a fine for all the time you were without it. At least that is how I understand it. BEFORE SIGNING HER UP - LOOK INTO IT AND BE CERTAIN BECAUSE THE FINES CAN BE SIGNIFICANT. We go to medicare town hall meetings every year and they always emphasize this - you must get Rx coverage from the beginning.

Thanks for all the info, I thought I'd add...
I'm between jobs and currently have no medical benefits, and recently discovered the following. Any of you who use CVS for prescriptions - they will give a Triple A discount on prescription meds. I save approximately $20+ on my blood pressure prescription.
HTH.

Thanks Happy. She's has Univera Senior Choice, not sure if that makes a difference or not. Had to fax them POA and Health Care Proxy just so I could get info on coverages and even if she had any prescription coverage. She always just let everything stay the same and we couldn't get her to go to any of the town hall meetings. I have 3 more years before I'm 65 and I plan to do my homework. I'm covered now through my employer whom I retired from. It's certainly not cheap, for DH and I (including dental) we pay $404.00/month. It did go up $50 from last year. Deductibles are $800/family which has remained the same now, but BCBS is our only choice of carrier. Levels of coverage vary but we take enhanced plan. It's worked out so far, but nothing is ever covered 100%, usually 80%. Better than not having.
Again, thanks for the info. It's greatly appreciated.

I would call her insurance agent if she has one or SS and question about this. How could an insurance agent let this go by all these years?

I just wanted to bring this more towards the top. For those who may have missed it and can benefit from it. I have saved so much money and it bothers me that some people aren't aware of this website and are overpaying for their meds. How great would it be if someone at the pharmacy could give you a heads up?I know that would make me shop that store more often!
