I've always self treated mine. I use the drug store corn removal lotion and after a few days just snip off the dry top. I use an antibiotic ointment after.

I was reading that other remedies include: vinegar wash, lemon wash, baking soda paste and terpentine oil. It was recommended that after the corn is softened to use pumice to remove the dead area.

Podiatrist told me NOT to use the stick on removal disc on the inside of the toes.

What was the reason you were advised to not use it?  I used one many years ago - it pulled the "core" out of the inside of the toe and the corn was gone.  I've never had another one.

My guess is that they are pretty harsh for the tender skin between toes. I use them but leave on for a couple of hours only. He seems very annoyed that I only want "corn" treatment and not something high dollar like bunion surgery.

I have scleroderma and corns are a really big problem for me on my feet and on my hands, too. I get corns on any place where my skin rubs together...between toes and fingers. Also get them on knuckles and any place where my shoe rubs. I have to get them removed by a wound-care doctor specialist about every six months. They cut me and use a laser as well. The whole thing is so painful even after topical numbing. I don't want to have to go under anesthesia for this....not now anyway. I usually can't walk normally  for a couple of days afterwards but then it's fine for several months, tg.Woman Happy

Corns on feet are caused most of the time by poor fitting shoes. Can rarely also be caused by poor gait - though usually that causes a callus. The best and only effective treatment for corns is to go to a proper shoe store and have them measure you for new shoes that fit properly and don't rub anywhere. Trust me - I was born with a club foot and for my entire life my main doctor I see the most of is the podiatrist. I even worked for one part time for a while when his wife/nurse had twins and needed some time off. Google what causes corns and you'll see I'm right.

Many, many years ago I suffered through all the OTC remedies and nothing really worked. Mine were between both little and 4th toes. I went to a podiatrist who said that I had bilateral hammertoes. I had the hammertoe surgery and have never had another corn anywhere.

I developed one on my pinky toe about a month ago.  I don't know what to do as I've never had one.  I bought Dr. Scholl's "corn removers".  They look like little oval pads you stick on it and leave on.

Has anyone tried these and do they work and are safe?  Thanks.  I don't want to go to the podiatrist right now and would rather take care of it myself if i can.Woman Happy

Dear  "GOLDENSRBEST" and  "SOUTHFLORIDA321"    Some people develop bone spurs on the outside of the baby toes and corns will develop on top of the bone spurs.  I have the little bone spurs and needed to go to wider shoes.   Hope this helps.   SC
