I have been looking for a combined Fitbit type wellness smartwatch with a Life Alert type function to call 911 for help so I don't have to wear two devices. Does anyone know of such a device? Could QVC work with Fitbit or some company to manufacture one? I think it would be really helpful to a lot of the QVC senior customers like myself.

I purchased a Apple Watch in December 2021 because it has fall detection. In November 2022, I was alone at the office at work and I fell. My Apple watch detected the fall and asked if I wanted to call 911. I think this feature in invaluable. I live alone and need that.

My mother has the new Apple Watch with fall detection. She has fallen twice since she has had it and it worked both times. The first time she fell she was ok, and her watch alerted her that it could call 911 if she needed but she clicked she was ok. The second time she fell, she was unable to respond and it called 911 and I was alerted as well.
I only have 2 drawbacks to it for me. One is that it has to be charged daily, which can mean an hour or 2 without it. And unless you have the one with celluar capabilty, you have to be within range of your phone. My mom's home is pretty medium so she is most always in range. But her mailbox is kinda far. Even if you do have the watch with cellular capability, it is +/- $20 a month for that.

Thank you for sharing that information. I need to look into something like this for myself. I don't live by myself, but I'm out running by myself several days a week. I have taken a hard fall once before and if I had been by myself, not sure what I what have done.
You are right ... this service is INVALUABLE for peace of mind.

Where I am most likely to fall is in the shower. Dies your mom wear it while bathing or showering, @JennaTheScorpio?

My DD has an Apple watch--she fell walking to work and badly sprained her ankle--no one around to help but her watch alerted her and she could have had it call 911 but she called her boss instead and he came to get her. I have that watch but didn't have it on and last Oct I fell and broke my ankle in my apartment--my cell phone was on the table about 5 feet away and I had to move myself that 5 feet to be able to reach it and call 911. Note to self--ya gotta wear that watch!!! Would have been so much easier!!!

There are several other smart watches that have great capabilities but cost a fraction of an apple.watch; Tozo and Fit it come to mind.

Don't know but my point is you can Google the feature you want and see who offers it (Apple is expensive and definitely not the only show in town).
