Fitbit Force is the BEST one--QVC doesn't carry it. Here's the review:http://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/30/technology/personaltech/review-the-fitbit-force-activity-tracker.h...

Pretty sure this model (Fitbit Force) has been discontinued and a recall issued.

That's correct. It's not available for purchase anymore. A small number of people reported skin reactions and FitBit did a voluntary recall. I contacted them because I have a Force and have had no issues, but replacement parts are no longer sold on the site. I asked them if I should trade mine in just in case I lose my charging cable or anything else and they said that if it's working for me, I should keep it and they will send me a replacement charging cable for free if I ever lose mine. I still use my Force almost daily. (I forgot it this morning and I'm bummed. I put it in a weird place last night when I was cleaning.)

I love my fitbit! I have had it for about 4 months now and wear it 24/7. It totally motivates me to move and to hit my goal of 10,000 steps a day. I go over on many days. The dog gets extra walks! Its a great item. I love the sleep monitoring and just started using the alarm in the morning. I am not a alarm person but a little vibration on my wrist to gently wake me is just fine.

I have the fitbit flex, the one they are selling today. Its wonderful. Love it!

To me it REALLY stinks that QVC sells discontinued products and doesn't fess up to it. What a rip off! AND IF they are selling discontinued it should be at half price or something. You just can't trust their "bargains" any more.

QVC is NOT selling the model that was recalled!

I bought that thing and couldn't figure it out and had to return it.

Maybe I should give it another try. What do you ladies think? Is it as difficult as it seems to be to me?

I have the Zip. I'm not very tech savvy and I don't have a smart phone. I synched it up to my computer...it took about 30 seconds to figure it out.

If you can navigate the QVC boards and shop online, you can set this up.

I agree that it is very simple to set up & use. There are simple instructions and lots of Q&A on the Fitbit site. If you have questions or problems not addressed on the site you can email Fitbit CS and they will help.

The Fitbit does the work. We just wear it. Just touch the Fitbit or check the app or site for step counts & other stats.

Yep, everything they said. I have the zip and wear it daily. I synched it to my desktop computer. I also have the scale. Both talk to My Fitness Pal and Diet Better apps that I use.

The FitBit FORCE was the one recalled due to rashes. QVC is NOT selling it.

QVC is selling the FitBit Flex. I am very allergic to nickel and I have NO trouble with it. The clasp feels like hard plastic to me and I find it difficult to believe there is any metal in it. It is touching my skin 24/7 and I have not had any rashes from it. And I can't wear any jewelry with ANY nickel in it for more than a few minutes before it starts itching, etc.

As to the link to the report that the fitness trackers aren't effective, that's entirely possible. If you wear it and sit on your bum the fitness tracker won't do a thing for you. The article sounded like people expect the tracker to magically make a change in them. It doesn't.

It does automatically track an approximation of my activity and lets me view my progress over time. I can set goals and it vibrates when I reach the goal that day. If it isn't perfectly accurate that's okay; I just want an approximation. If you want to set a goal of 10,000 steps and you record using an accurate measuring device that the 10,000 steps you walked were actually only 9000 then just set your goal to 11,000 or something like that to make sure you get what you consider "accurate." It's not that the tracking is all over the place. you just find what works for you and your activity.

I would love to try it but I don't want to wear Wifi on my body & they say do not sleep in a room where you have Wifi, so I'm not sure I would want to sleep with the FitBit.

I do not keep my phone on all day, only if I need it and I only use it on speaker when I do use it.

I work around computer all day, I don't want to add to my Wifi exposure by wearing it on my body

I wish you could turn off hte wifi and just down load the info. once a day?

Reading the comments at the end is quite scary and eye opening!

I think you should probably ask CS. The device is Bluetooth instead of WiFi. Not sure if that consoles you or not but Bluetooth consumes much less energy and is effective only for shorter ranges compared to WiFi. I assume that means it would have less effect on humans but that's not a sure thing.

I don't worry about it anymore. Most of us are exposed to so much stuff anyway, especially in our food and water. My tech devices help me achieve the quality of life I want so I'm not giving them up anytime soon. I use a Bluetooth headset almost 24/7 and use my smartphone for work so it's on 24/7 as well.

I heard the word fitbit for the first time a couple weeks ago .... based on the comments here, it sounds like they haven't really worked the bugs out yet. {#emotions_dlg.unsure}

The UP24 is by far the most comfortable fitness tracker out of the bunch and the easiest to take off and put back on. The battery lasts a reasonable amount of time due to the lack of a display and the app is well done. It's also the best at tracking sleeping patterns.

For those who are the most about comfort and tracking sleep habits, the UP24 is what you want.
