Hi everyone. I just wanted to share an experience I had using fish oil
I had taken fish oil on and off for a couple of years now but heading towards 55 I decided, it's time to take serious my health and well being.
I changed my diet, and started taking fish oil. Within just a couple of weeks my blood sugar started rising and my blood pressure started to go down. Too far down. After having heart flutters I went to a cardiologist. My BP was 88/64. Needless to say I felt like cr ap. My sugar went up by 4 to 5 points every morning, although not extreme diabetic levels, it was still upsetting. I researched for hours on the internet what I could be doing that would cause all of this then out of the blue I remembered, the fish oil is a new addition. Sure enough when I started researching...fish oil can cause low blood pressure, seriously low if taking BP meds, raise blood sugar and raise bad cholesterol.
Just an FYI if you find yourself in this same situation, it could be your fish oil! (I was taking 3000mg daily)
Just an update. I stopped taking the fish oil on Monday, my blood pressure is now back to normal 110/70 and my sugar this morning was 89 :-)
