First Hand Experience with Sore Arches

For those who have had sore arches, how do you soothe them?

I go hiking with coworkers at lunch.  My trail shoes were not yet broken in, so I wore my fashion sneakers.  These were not meant for the terrain we tackle.  As a result, my right arch aches every so often.  Outside of this, I don't have achy feet.

Others: don't tell me to see my doctor.

I don't know where you are but if available, go to a reflexology place.  These are usually in China towns or places that have concentrations of Chinese. I go for the one hour foot massage that includes a foot soak.  Depending on where you go this should cost approx. $40.

Even rolling your foot on top of a tennis ball will work...........

Tennis ball and Aleve (NSAID) or other type of anti-inflammatory/pain drug.  Feel better

patbz, I get pedicures once a month.  My guy gives me an awesome foot massage.  I will have him focus on my arches when I go next week.

Thank you!

Physical therapy -type roller and ball massagers work very well, honeybee, and they're very reasonably priced.

Here are three great ones... HTH!

Hi Groovy!  I took my Dad to a running store to get him a pair of walking shoes for his birthday last month.  They had these foot rollers, but I didn't pay them too much attention.

I like that second one, with the porcupine ball.

Thanks!

Di, when we were hiking on Thursday, I made sure to step on small rocks.  That soothed the ache.

With 2 teenage boys, my trunk is an arsenal of sports equipment.  I'm sure I'll find some tennis balls back there.

Thanks Bella!  Alleve is my drug of choice.  I'm very happy they came out with a PM version.
