LCR - YES!
Today I had an appointment with my Cancer Doctor. I have been having trouble with my knee. I thought it was because of a drug he has had me on. So he has changed my medicine a couple times. And because I have had trouble with my knee, I have been taking numerous supplements to try and help with the joint pain.
So I figured I would stop taking all the supplements for several days, so when I went to the Doctor today, I would not have the supplements affecting my knee. My knee felt so much better and I did too.

Also companies often make claims that simply are not true . . Even folks one may think is a reputable person, so a lot of folks thought initially with Dr Oz. Also you can never really be sure about the integrity of the product.. Wonder how much money Oprah, Dr Oz and Dr Phil made off of junk science and quackery. She is the reason for their rise to " fame" Although I suppose Dr Oz is still a cardiologist., he seems to have toned it down after having to testify befor Congress about making false claims about weight loss supplements. However, it forever tarnished his creditability.
This is incorrect. Supplements are FDA regulated.

Supplements are a subcategory of the Food section. Supplements have their own set of regulations, different from the Food section.
FDA is not authorized to review dietary supplement products for safety and effectiveness before they are marketed. The manufacturers and distributors of dietary supplements are responsible for making sure their products are safe BEFORE they go to market.

No, I feel better when I take my carefully chosen supplements.
Those who are talking about "supplements" as being unregulated or bad or something harmful are putting them all into one big category, which makes absolutely no sense.
Surely you don't believe Vitamin D, for instance, from a proven source/brand is the same as some touted cure-all by some unknown just trying to make a buck?
You have to do your own research, find trusted sources, and not lump everything into one big category. Be judicious.

I used to take Centrum and after a while they gave me buzzing sensation.
It's hard to explain, not like being high or loopy.
Once I stopped them that feeling went away.

Most people do not need supplements. We can get all the nutrients that our bodies need by eating well. Of course, there are exceptions like people with specific health issues or absorption issues or advanced age. Unfortunately, the average American does not eat for health. We don't get enough nutrients from our food so we need a good multivitamin but don't need anything else unless a physician has confirmed that we are deficient in something. You probably feel better because you are eating well and drinking enough water. You body is getting what it needs.

Instead of supplements, maybe take a double dose of Prozac?

I thought I would go the natural route and try and get everything from what I was eating. Unfortunately, I stopped taking my Magnesium supplement which was ordered by my cardiologist. I ended up with a dangerous arhythmia and in the hospital.
I think if a physician prescribes something...It is best to run it by them if you want to stop taking it.

I stopped most of my supplements — getting pricey — for a few months and am now adding back a few to see which ones help me.

I take only the 3 supplements my body is low on; verified thru lab testing. I do not add extra chemicals to my body for my liver and kidneys to process.

ITA!
Vitamin B12 is the only thing required for everyone.
Vitamin D is acquired from sunlight...just few sunlight minutes each day is all one needs....unless you live way up north, and it’s a small supplement. Other than that...good nutrition & everything would be covered.
