I was at the opthamalogist yesterday and was told that I have early cataracts! I'm almost 63. This was the first time I've felt like I have an "old age" condition. OMG!
I've noticed in the last year or so that I keep taking off my glasses to clean them because things don't seem as sharp as they should, and my glasses are not dirty. Guess it is the cataract.
I have a "lazy eye" that was never corrected, so he told me that when the time comes to repair the cataract, they can drop a permanent lens behind the lazy eye to help improve the vision in that eye. I guess that should be something to be excited about, but I'm not...what a consolation!
How fast do cataracts progress, and does anyone know if those antioxidants for eyes help cataracts or just macular degeneration? Thanks!
