Re: Favorite At Home Exercise

@tsavoprite

I think you nailed it...you have to find an activity you like to do, so you will continue to want to do it.

I agree about not wanting to go to a gym. Prior to getting married I would go to gym after work. But these days, I am happy we have room for equipment I can use at anytime and not have to go out in cold and dark.

Leslie Sansone's app called "Walk at Home". Tons of safe workouts to choose from and they all share the Leslie foundational moves, but mix it up and various levels, and resistance band work for strength.  It's $4.99/ month. I use them every other day and they keep me fit and not injured!  And all the instructors are upbeat and encouraging!
I tried the Peleton workouts, but they were too fast and repetitive and my back started hurting. Gotta be sooo careful ! I find I get hurt so easily-  Keep it moving!

My winter inside program is a mile on the treadmill, a mile on the Cubi and 20-30 minutes on the vibrating platform with the stretch bands. Keeps me at 105 lbs. and healthy. Stay away from processed carbs.

I've done Maranda; however, I never stuck with it and was disappointed in it. It just wasn't for me I guess.

Callanetics for your back : Pinckney, Callan : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive

I bought this book when I was in my 40's.  I have kept up these back exercises ever since.  I have stretches I can do that if I have pain in the middle of the night, I can do them and the pain is relieved within minutes. What I really liked also is she tells you what exercises you should NOT do or how to modify specific exercises according to where and what your back pain is. Sadly.... Callan died in 2012.

She traveled the world and learned a lot.  She was born with several defects but you would never know it to look at her.

@bargainsgirl

I love Classical Stretch.  It comes on two different PBS stations every morning.   I try to do them both daily.  It really helps!

Re: Favorite At Home Exercise

Easy for me - an exercise routine that I got from the physical therapist.  With further intructions to "stay active."

And ... walkng.   Since I live in NYC - walking is a natural.
