Oh my goodness!  I am so very sorry for what you and your husband have gone through.

I am rarely in the Wellness thread.

@ECBG I spent the last two days playing nursemaid.  He had to have ice packs on his eyes every hour for a half and hour.  That doesn't leave a lot of time to do other things especially becuase if I get off doing something else I might lose track of time.  So, anything I did had to be short.  Now that we have passed the 48 hour mark, I can get more back to normal.  He just has to keep the area dry so no showers, but besides that no real aftercare.  Of course, he can't drive for a week and can't do any lifting for about 3 weeks.
