I was recently told by my eye doctor that it would be a good idea for me to begin taking a fish oil supplement. When I asked him which kind or how much, he was vague and just said just take one of a usual dosage and it doesn't really matter what kind. ???
Any how, macular degeneration runs in our family and my mother has it to the point where treatments no longer help her. I am very fearful about this and pray I don't get it!
When examining my eyes, he did find a couple of small drusen which could be a precuser to this condition or could be just a natural againg process --- so he says. He says we will just monitor them and in the meantime take the fish oil supplements.
I have a couple of questions. Has anyone been told to take fish oil supplements for their eyes? And if so, what kind do you take and how much?
Have you had any unpleasant side affects from taking them?
Thanks a lot for your replies!
