Eye Pressure Procedure Results

I saw my ophthalmologist this morning to get a check on my eye pressure after having a laser procedure done earlier in the fall to lower it. The doctor checked the pressure in my right eye first which had the highest number. He commented that he did not expect such significant results. The pressure had dropped 11 points. My left eye dropped 8 points. He had told me to expect a 5 point drop when pressure reaches as high as mine had.

I am so relieved to get my pressure increases stopped and lowered. If anyone needs this procedure, do not be afraid. It is simple and requires no preparation. They do not dialate the eyes.

By the way, I had a celebratory latte and cupcake.

That is VERY good news! I take the drops every night to lower the eye pressure. I do try to exercise as much as I can, which can help lower pressure. I wonder though, if and when the drops will stop working and I might need this type of surgery. I'm thrilled to hear you had great results.

Re: Eye Pressure Procedure Results

@Effie54 I have been on drops for years. They gradually stopped being as effective about four years ago. My pressure was increasing every time it was checked. We tried different types of drops with no improvement. At my pressure check in the summer, it had increased to a level that frightened me. I reluctantly agreed to the laser. I only wish I had done it sooner.

Good to know. I always wonder when that day will come when (hopefully not) the drops no longer work. I'm so happy your procedure went well.

Re: Eye Pressure Procedure Results

After having 2 cataract surgeries last year I can definitley see where having an eye procedure can easily be a piece of cake. Especially when lasers are used.

@Shelbelle I agree with you 100%!!!

Last year I had floaters removed from both eyes. Amazing procedure! One eye took 15 minutes for removal and the other took 17 minutes!

Having had cataract surgery and vitrectomy, I now have perfect (20/15), clear vision!

As someone who has worn contact lenses since I was 16y/o, I am thrilled!

I have never worn glasses and still dont, agree, nothing beats great vision !!! Many put off cataract surgery, I cant imagine living for too long with cataracts.
