I'm wondering if anyone else has this and what they do about it.
When I am suddenly startled, I jump and feel like my either heart stops or races. It happens often; my husband knows about this, yet he will come into the room and start talking when I don't expect it and I have the extreme response. He tries to cough or knock lightly on the wall to alert me that he's near, but he forgets to do it.
We had work done on our home for the past month and every time one of the carpenters dropped a tool, I'd have the same reaction. My youngest son had the most fun jumping out and scaring the daylights out of me. He thought it was hysterical; I did not.
I don't know when this started, but I've been this way my entire adult life. Can anyone relate? Please tell me your story!
Thank you!
