I'm a very short person so I do a lot of stretching when I reach for that bag of Oreos I have stashed on the top shelf. I need to stay in shape just to do that.![]()

Be sure to put the chips in the lowest drawer. When you bend over to reach for them make sure to keep your knees straight and that way you get a good back stretch along with stretching your hamstrings.

Stretching is a part of being fit.
When they had those pictures on the news about the wedding recently in Brunei, I was reminded of that old report that getting up from the floor is a predictor of all sort of things. Bad things!

@KG60 - So let's see you run though that whole routine on a chart someone posted and tell us how you feel after.
Better yet, do the stretching routines that ballet dancers and sports athletes do - out of breath yet? Or try doing some strenuous exercise without stretching first (careful you don't injure yourself). Ever heard of yoga?
Don't mock until you have more information about what constitutes exercise. For some people, it may be all they can do. (It's easy to be cynical.)
BTW, I'd get that snort looked at by a doctor. You may have a blockage of some kind.

I concur with everyone else. Yes! It is.

Wow. You assume a lot, since you don't know me. Perhaps we could carpool, me to the snort Doctor and you to therapy for passive aggressive behavior. I'll drive. 😉

There are 3 facets to fitness: cardio, strength and flexibility (stretching)- Do not minimize how important stretching is, in whatever form you are doing it - yoga, or just basic stretching. So important for mobility, to keep muscles, tendons ligaments limber and joints lubricated- When you see older folks who can barely move, that's no stretching for years- I was a certified trainer a few years ago...

Those stretches look a lot like the movements I make just doing stuff around the apartment.
Bending, reaching, lifting, pulling. Add in my daily 15 minute (minimum) .. no wonder I'm in fairly good shape for an "old" lady!
(I only do floor exercises when I've fallen and go through my five minute "get up"off the floor routine.) ![]()
