Re: Evenity for osteoporosis

Has anyone here been prescribed this new biologic osteoporosis treatment, or had their doctor talk about it, yet?  Just curious.

Evenity is the brand name for Romosozumab.

I have been taking Prolia for 6 years and it's always caused some sort of issues.  My last two shots were so debilitating I was in bed for 4 or 5 days both times.  My next oncologist appt I am telling him that there is no way I will continue with Prolia shots so I was interested in reading this.

However, I'm guessing the drug is probably in the same class of drug as Prolia bc the ending of the names are the same.  I was on Fosamax years ago and had no issues with that but I know that's an older class of these drugs.  It'll be interesting to see what he puts me on.

@PilatesLover  Thanks for your kind words. I've stopped giving updates. It has become upbelieveable.

This is why drivers must have the best insurance available! I'm still turning all expenses into MY insurance company who is paying the medical bills. When everything is all healed, we'll settle up with HER insurance company.

The Forteo shots cost over $3500 per month. Holy Cow!! I have applied for financial assistance to help with co-pays since that throws me into the big black hole of Part D.  My Rheumatologist and I cannot see making her insurance reimburse me for that when there is a way out with assistance from Eli Lilly. Imagine I won't be paying into IRS nearly as much in 2020; but for what I've been through, I'd gladly pay as usual.

I'd be very interested in knowing whether you can get financial assistance from Eli Lilly. Since you refer to falling into the donut  hole, I assume you're on some form of Medicare. I thought that people on Medicare were automatically ineligible for pharma assistance programs. Has this changed? It would be great if it had!
