Ernie Banks, aka Mr. Cub, Has Passed Away

It saddens me to report that Mr, Cub, No. 14, Ernie Banks, has passed away. He was 83. He was always a Cub and a significant part of my childhood. May God comfort his family and friends.

Mr. Cub is a wonderful inspiration and a true lover of the game he played. May he Rest In Peace! Blessings to his family.

Ernie was a truly great sportsman who transcended baseball.

I wasn't a Cubs fan BUT you couldn't help but like Ernie Banks. The game of baseball was better because he was a part of it. Sad that he passed away.

Yes, very sad news for baseball & the great city of Chicago. Classy guy! Super talented. Loved that era of the Cubs with Ernie Banks, Ron Santo, Glen Beckert, Don Kessinger, Billy Williams.

Lol, can't imagine how some of the "new era" prima donna's could endure, let alone play at the top of their game when double headers were a norm. Can't you just see Ronny clicking his heels as he greets Ernie ;-)
