I just heard about the change to Erfa Thyroid which I guess happened in Jan 2014. I still have enough to last through the year & don't have any of the new fomula. Who takes Armour Thyroid now? Did you take it before it was reformulated? Is the formula back now like it was before the reformulation? Can you take it sublingually? If Erfa does not get their Thyroid straightened out I may have to switch back to Armour or something else but don't know what. Anyone else taking Erfa Thyroid & having problems?

There are other desiccated products available in the US...Westhroid and Naturethroid. They are similar I believe to Armour. You might ask about those. It is really troubling when our medicines are changed or become unavailable. I went through this with the Levoxyl recall and when the hydrocortisone I took stopped being produce. Hard to make changes isn't it? Hope you find one you can take.

I know there are other options available. I have seen them all on STTM website. I don't really want to switch. The switching only makes the doctors want you to take the synthetic form. I really like the Erfa & hope they get things worked out. Yes it's hard to make changes especially when it's medication that works vs one that does not.

I hear you, just wanted to be sure you knew about these choices if the ERFA is not the same. Good luck!

I took Armour before the change. When Armour became hard to find due to Forest being shut down or whatever, I switched to Erfa for about a year or so. Now Armour is easy to get locally again and I can't tell any difference between Armour I took in 2005 and what I get now at the drugstore. However I've never taken it sublingually.
