Hi All,

Relative has been drinking this for 3 days and coincidentally, has been experiencing tingling.  I advised stop it.  It was Dr. recommended at Tuesday's annual exam.

Just curious, have any of you heard of this, or know of someone who has experienced it?  Nutrition drinks are unregulated and a Google search shows many side effects, just not tingling.

  Thanks in advance,

     Seannie

Tingling can have many causes.  I have it in my feet, in two fingers and an arm (if I turn in the night).  From several different reasons.  If it persists it might need checking.

@Seannie.  I don't know what there is in a protein drink that could possibly cause tingling unless the drink is too cold.  I've had one every day for the past few years (not the same brand)and never had such a complaint.

I think this might be an issue for her physician due to medical issues. Hope you get it resolved.

I haven't had this product but other things I've consumed have caused tingling around my mouth and I was told it's an allergic reaction.

Re: Ensure Max Protein

[ Edited ]

Acesulfame-Potassium aka Ace-k makes my body feel weird plus headache if I consume. Could be this.

I don't use any artificial sweeteners.

How many do you drink per day? How much protein do you consume daily?

If I needed more protein I would eat a grass fed hamburger before I would drink this.

Tingling could be caused by a number of things.

Ensure Max Protein - French Vanilla ingredients:

Thank you all.  I wonder if it is the Ace-K.  I don't use it and neither did my relative until this week.  Hmmm.

I would talk with the health care provider that recommended it,  My brother is in cancer battle and he drinks ensure often and has had no problems.

The only problem that I have ever heard that came from Ensure was constipation and impaction.

My friend's MIL had really bad, severe dementia and wouldn't eat.  Her husband who was her care giver dropped Ensure into her mouth with a straw.  That was the only nourishment she was receiving.

She was never given any water or anything else to eat or drink.  She passed due to several issues, including her digestive problems and impaction.

I never forgot that...always drink water in addition to those dietary drinks.

I would call the doctor and report the tingling.  It could be due to something else and not related to the Ensure.
