Wish QVC would offer an electric wheelchair.
I see the presentations for the electric scooters. The scooters are good and I have one but I would still like to see the Q offer an electric wheelchair.

I assume they're only offered thru medical supply sources because they require fitting and adaptation to a specific individual as well as some training to use them.   They'd also be prohibitive to ship by the usual sources because they're so heavy.

I don't understand why?  They are available anywhere wheelchairs are sold.

If it is medically necessary ( you can't  manually propel yourself in a regular wheelchair) they are covered by insurance if prescribed by your doctor.

Also, there are so many different types and sizes.  They should be custom fitted to you and purchased to cover your lifestyle and circumstances.

If they have to be custom fitted to the individual how could they be sold online? And if they are available everywhere wheelchairs are sold what is the advantage of purchasing one from QVC? It seems like it would be best to go through a medical supply company that can file for insurance.

I remember seeing an electric wheelchair on HSN a time or two. Surprised the Q doesn't offer one.

@countrylady : Please consider shopping locally for the electric wheel chair. You need to sit in one to make sure it fits your body : comfortable for the back, seat, leg length and foot placement. I am shopping  for one: have bad back, one leg shorter. Not just in the store: see if they will let you try it outside - side walk, any grass areas.

The one that I need: Medicare will not pay because it folds up and easier to transport but will pay 80 % for one that is heavy and has to be taken apart in 4 parts to put in car. Major purchase.

I made a lot of phone calls to my insurance and Medicare. A doctors statement not always  necessary because  Medicare has a list of the wheelchairs they will approve and if the wheelchair that you prefer is not on the list: pay for it yourself.

@countrylady

You will be far more satisfied to get your medical provider to help you get a medical grade wheelchair thru a local medical supply company that fits your specific needs, which your health insurance should help cover.
