I doctored for a rash for over a year.  I still don't know what it is.  No one drinks more water then I do, and it does nothing.  I use a prescription steroid cream.I would consult a Dermatologist like others have said.  I spent over 500.00 out of pocket for my Dr. to tell me I am unlucky???  I thought really?  No, you are the unlucky one as you have just lost a patient.  You might try Lysine. I have read that it helps some types of rashes.  I can't say it helped mine , but worth a try.

Thanks, @BalletBabe.

I will look into Lysine.  I can't believe your doctor said you are "unlucky."  Not a good doctor.  If he/she didn't know the answer, they should've done some testing or referred you to someone else.

I hope you find relief.  Heart

@mistriTsquirrel Don't let this get away with you (worse).  If I were you I'd go to a dermatologist.  They probably have some lotion that have a steroid that would clear it up right away.  I know things like that can be painful and we are entering the time of year where our skin gets moist and we sweat, etc.

Please let us know how you are doing.  Take care...Annabelle/Linda

You know, about Vitamins...Andrew Lessman over on HSN's vitamins are great and don't sit on shelves.  Go check him and them out.  A lot of people, myself included take his vitamins.  They are well worth the extra money.Smiley Happy

Thanks, @Annabellethecat66.

I will look at the Lessman vitamins.  I've mostly been using Solaray vitamins or Now brand.  I've been pretty happy with them so far.  The problem is remembering to take them.  I used to be very good about that.  I need to get back on track.

I will see a derm eventually.  I've just got other concerns I need to address first.

Having recently been inflicted with this scourge on humanity within the past year, I must say it is both painful AND ugly. My dermatologist has had me try several costly treatments that did not fully reverse the patches. My palms seem to suffer the most. I am finding good OTC luck using The Body Shop Hemp Hand protector cream during the day and Psoriasin ointment (tar based) at night with cotton socks covering the hands. Both reduce the inflammation significantly. Be warned, that they both stink to high heaven, but I'm at the point where I honestly do not care.

Thank you, @deedledeedeedle.

I'm thankful to not have it severely, but I'll keep those in mind if any of my spots get really bad.

I get it on my hands too, but for some reason it's mostly on the pinky knuckles.  I don't know why.

I hope you're able to get rid of it, so you can ditch the stinky creams.  Hugs to you. Heart

@mistriTsquirrel  She did a lot of tests, even a biopsy and allergy.  Nothing showed up. The rash is not itchy, so it don't really bother me.  Most of it is on my legs which isn't visible when I am dressed.  I did a 21 days cycle of prerdnisone.  (that stuff is nasty)  I did it cause she said it was important to finish it.  I was good for about 2 months and guess what?  so then she did a two week cycle of prednisone.  Good for about a month.  Last cycle was only a week.  She told me I was unlucky and that she would see me back in 3 months.  I canceled that appointment and never went back.

@BalletBabe  I'm glad.  It doesn't sound like she knew what she was doing!!

I hope you find a doc who does!!

I do know that vitamin E helps with that.  Also Vitamin B6 also helps.

Here's something from the National Eczema Association:

@Annabellethecat66  Thank you.

I need to get back on the B-Complex vitamins.  I don't know why I stopped taking them, I just got out of the habit, I guess.  They're sitting on the kitchen counter!!

I have to be careful about taking too much B-6 or E because they thin your blood, and I'm already on a med that does that.

I was looking at the NEA link, and it says:   "You can help calm specific symptoms of eczema by adding bleach, vinegar, salt, oatmeal or baking soda to your bath water."  Bleach???  That's something I don't think I'll be trying.  Yikes.  Maybe if my elbow gets really bad, I could try just putting my elbow in a bowl of bleach water, but "no" to the whole-body bleach bath.  LoL

Edited to add:  I hope nobody tries to add all of those things into a bath at once.  Can you imagine the toxic volcano bath that would result??  LoL

LOL!! @mistriTsquirrel!!

Your post made me laugh! Smiley LOL

Seriously though, bleach and vinegar are being used in health care for treating skin wounds. I've been through this as a patient.

It's not like you would just get the bottle of bleach out at home and just "have at it" like you're cleaning the bathtub with it! LOL!! Smiley LOL  Smiley Wink

In health care, products are used that are ordered that are already pre-mixed from a company.

If you were to do something like this at home with home products, you would be diluting the products, too.

None of these health issues are funny, but I appreciate your sense of humor when trying to talk about them ((Hugs)).

I'm like that too, where I try and keep some levity about it because it helps me to deal with the stress of everything. Smiley Happy

I also have Psoriasis along with the Eczema, too. I had the Eczema first for many years before the Psoriasis started showing up.

The Psoriasis is still mild, but unfortunately it is spreading to other areas of my body now. You can see it more clearly on my elbows and on my knees, and it's starting to appear on the back of my legs now, too. Smiley Sad

I hope you'll find a solution to your skin woes...and it won't be bathing in a volcano.  Smiley Wink

There are worse things than skin problems, but we can never just have skin problems, can we?  There are always other things to go along with them.
