Dr appt done via telemedicine. Much safer at this point.

I think all nonessential appointments will be cancelled soon or should be to protect everyone. I'm sorry for the medical profession!😷
I hope you are doing okay!

@lovesrecess wrote:I have a dr appt scheduled for Fri March 20. It is a three-month follow-up visit. Got a text yesterday from the dr office saying they are closing the three-floor medical building due to virus concerns. Their office is on the first floor so I don't have to get on an elevator. I am very surprised they are closing everything but they do have an emergency hotline which I don't think I would need. Not sure what kind of drs are on the other two floors but maybe their patients are more vulnerable. My friends DH told me when he goes to visit her at the hospital now they are not allowing more than two people on the elevator at one time and are using the freight elevators wince they are bigger and allow more space. Every day, something else!
Coincident. I just posted about this.

@lovesrecessNot sure why all would be closed, but I would not be going tor any routine visits myself.
I did speak with my SIL in central PA an hour ago - nearly 90 and having respiratory issues. She was seen very briefly in that unit at her local hospital which had her in and out in just a few miniutes. Gave her a refill script of something she'd used in the past and sent her home.
They did not test for Corona. She assumed that was because her problem is what she "always" goes for. I'm assuming she didn't ask, but they have no tests available. We'll all be better off if she's the one with the proper thought!

We just got an email from our dentist. Emergencies only. A very smart move I think.

I had two clinic appointments this week. One was for a blood test, the other was a follow up visit with a specialist at a different clinic. I cancelled both because of the fear of being in a clinic with sick people. I am over 70, and a bit anxious right now.

My provider's network sent out an email a few days ago covering all the info we'd need to deal with the current situation - for ourselves or family.

My dr said to email her first--do not come in. she is still seeing patients but taking the sick on certain days and the healthy ones on the other days, so no one is together-----my next oncology appt is in May---we'll see. I had a few other misc appts but have cancelled them-----got the word that most places//services , where people gather are banned from doing so--- everything but grocery stores, gas stations and pharmacies ----

My mother is 87 and wears a pacemaker and she has had two aortic aneurysms and has other health issues. She was scheduled for a 3 month appt with one of the cardiologists on Wednesday but my brother and I decided that it is just too scary a situation for her to go the the doctor's office in the hospital. later in the afternoon she was to have had another doctor appt at a different hopstial. I think in one of these appts the scheduling staff called to see if she could come at a later date.
I am glad about it. But I am also concerned about her health.
8 yrs ago it was right after the first aneurysm. My father had just had a stroke 4 months prior. (My father passed 2 1/2yrs ago). My brother would drive him every day to the hospital to spend time with her and then one of my other siblings or I would be there as well. (there are 7 siblings). It is a tight area and the doctors offices are right by the rehab area. So I am glad that they are looking out for their patients who have appts but I again am concerned about her health.
